Questions Asked so far;-
1. Tents, Can we borrow these from other troops?
Yes if they are not being used at the same time, if the other group will let us and if they are large enough bearing in mind that the explorers are going to be living in these tents for two weeks.
2. Will there be regular meetings?
This has not yet been discussed. So far we have added an extra weekend camp from Friday 19th – Sunday 21st September for team building and getting to know each other. Everyone who is going must attend this camp!
3. Will Altitude affect those with Asthma?
This is a question that we could not really answer but we will find out and post on the web page. We suggested that individuals talk to their GP’s regarding medication and seek their advice. Please make sure that we have more than enough medication for two weeks. We will need to have signed written permission to dispense any medication. If you have any concerns regarding medication please chat to Mandy (mandy@1stbedhampton.co.uk or 07977 714462).
4. Could letters requesting sponsorship be available?
We will get a standard sponsorship letter put on the web page for anyone to print off and use. If your company can/would like to help in any way towards sponsoring us for Tents, T-shirts, badges, neckies, holdalls, day sacks etc then please let us know.
5. How many hours a day would we recommend for fundraising?
2-3 hours is a good amount plus an extra half an hour for counting the money. Mandy will be bag packing on Thursday 20th, Sat 22nd, Sun 23rd and Mon 24th from 10 – 1pm. Other leaders will also be around (not sure of their hours yet.
6. Further Fundraising?
An offer of running EBay to sell unwanted items was put forward this raised £200.00 for the world jamboree. So sort out all your good unwanted items and get selling.
Matt Boothby is running a raffle after Christmas with lots of goodies. Angie Boothby has approach a company for help.
7. Who should cheques be made payable to?
All cheques should be made payable to “1st Bedhampton Scout Group”.
